The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are taking a break, after dating for three years, according to source. The two seemed victim of the perils of long distance relationship since Garfield is now in Taiwan shooting Silence, a film by Martin Scorsese.
He was absent from the Oscars and Golden Globes Awards, where Emma Stone is nominated for Best Supporting Actress after earning multiple accolades for her role in Birdman.
Andrew once said that he will do anything to be there with Emma at the Oscars but unfortunately, Andrew has not been there. Therefore, speculations about the break up grew.
“Andrew’s thrown himself in the project to the detriment of all else. But it’s too early to say the relationship is over,” the source says. “Emma understands his work anxieties but they’re taking a break from seeing each other because they’ve both been busy to their respective schedules. This time last year they were privately discussing marriage,” the source added.
After wrapping up production on her new film Aloha, starring Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone has been seen spending time with her brother, Spencer, in Los Angeles.
Another source says that the break-up is temporary and not yet official so there’s still hope for the two to pick up where they left off and reconcile. The source says, “ They are just for work. Andrew is filming overseas. They have not seen each other because they are both busy with their careers.”
Stone and Garfield started dating after filming The Amazing Spider-Man in 2011. They were last seen together in New York City’s West Village on January 7. Representatives of Garfield and Stone have not yet commented.
